Join Jonathon Stalls, author of WALK - Slow Down, Wake Up & Connect at 1-3 Miles per Hour for an experiential book event. We will meet at 5 p.m. just outside the Irving & W Colfax entrance of Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales Branch Library for a walk/roll* through challenging pedestrian environments. Participants will witness and feel what it is like to move alongside popular and practical arterial roads like Federal and W. Colfax while we discuss barriers, opportunities, and upcoming improvements for prioritizing pedestrian access, health, and connection.
We will also be joined by Jill Locantore of Denver Streets Partnership, Dan Shah of West Colfax BID, and Leslie Twarogowski at Federal Boulevard BID. They will share throughout our walk/roll ways in which you can get involved and some of the work being done to improve the areas we will experience.
If you want to skip the walk, meet us at 6 p.m. near the intersection of W. Howard and W. Avondale in Paco Sánchez Park where Jonathon will read from his book, answer questions, and sell and sign newly released copies.
*This event will have many areas that will be difficult to navigate in a wheelchair or powered scooter. Please reach out to Jonathon with questions about how this will be handled as accessibility justice, safety and education is significant to the purpose of this event. He can be reached at 720-263-0227 or jonathon@intrinsicpaths.com
Book Sales & Check-Out: Books will be available for purchase at the reading/talk area in the park. You can pay $20 cash or card. Books are also available at the Denver Public Library. You can preorder the book here on the North Atlantic Books website as well (use: WALK25 for a 25% discount until August 15th). The book releases to the public on August 16th.
Event Questions: Please reach out to Jonathon directly at jonathon (at) intrinsicpaths (dot) com or 720-263-0227 with any questions related to the walking/rolling route and the book reading.
